Class Descriptions:

We offer the following classes throughout the year, depending on demand and availability of instructors:

Puppy Class

Start your journey with your puppy on the right foot by working together on family and community skills necessary for every dog and owner. This class includes basic obedience skills with emphasis on teaching you how to teach your puppy. Other topics include socialization, nail trimming, positive training methodology, and addressing your specific questions or puppy challenges. This is a 6-week class, and each class will last from 45 minutes to an hour. No flexi-leads in class, please. Bring treats and/or toys without squeakers.

Beginner Obedience

Responsible dog ownership includes teaching your dog the rules of being a good family and community member. We will help you do that with skills such as sit, down, stay, coming when called and walking politely on a leash. You will work with your dog on greeting people politely, being examined by someone such as a vet or groomer, doing what they are asked in a distraction-filled environment, and specific challenges you may have. This is a 6-week class with one-hour classes. No flexi-leads in class, please. Bring treats and/or toys without squeakers.

Canine Good Citizen:

This 4-week class will help prepare you and your dog to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, which can be a title for your dog if they are AKC-registered. The test is taken during the last class. Go to for test details. Any dog, not just purebred dogs, can be registered with the AKC to participate in the Canine Good Citizen test and many other dog sports and activities such as obedience, rally and agility.

Other Classes

We periodically offer classes such as Tricks, Community Canine Good Citizen (CGCA), Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU), rally, and more. Check with our class coordinator for more information.

CGC Testing

We also periodically offer Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Community Canine Good Citizen (CGCA) and Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU) testing at our events or meetings. Contact our class coordinator if you are interested in taking one of these tests, which can be a title if your dog is AKC-registered.
